Video on Ancient British Christianity

In this post I am sharing a video from YouTube titled: Ancient British Christianity: Not Under Roman Authority. In the video Fr. Andrew Harrah discusses the origins and early chapters of ancient British Christianity and considers the evidence for its subjection to the Bishop of Rome. I found the argument made by Fr. Harrah to be well researched, and this is one of the reasons why I decided to share it. Anyhow, I will stop here and encourage everyone to watch. Blessings!

Sharing an article on Shabbat

President Trump’s remarkable proclamation on May 4th in honor of Jewish Heritage Month is the first time an American president has publicly encouraged Jews to observe Shabbat.

“In special honor of 250 glorious years of American independence and on the weekend of Rededicate 250 — a national jubilee of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving — Jewish Americans are encouraged to observe a national Sabbath,” the President stated.

Even more remarkably, he suggested that all Americans be inspired by the Jewish day of rest. “From sundown on May 15 to nightfall on May 16, friends, families, and communities of all backgrounds,” the proclamation continues, “may come together in gratitude for our great Nation. This day will recognize the sacred Jewish tradition of setting aside time for rest, reflection, and gratitude to the Almighty.”

An article on antisemitism

Every other form of bigotry follows a recognizable logic: the majority fears or despises a minority that is different, foreign, threatening. Racism, xenophobia, sectarianism -- they're ugly, but they're legible. They target the stranger, the outsider, the group that doesn't fit.

Antisemitism operates on entirely different rules. Jews get blamed for contradictory things simultaneously, in every era, in every country, across the full spectrum of politics. In pre-war Europe, the left called Jews capitalists. The right called them communists. Today in America, the far right blames Jews for opening the borders. The far left says Jews invented apartheid policing. When Jews were poor, their poverty was a crime. When they became wealthy, their wealth was a conspiracy. When they had no homeland, they were rootless parasites. Now that they have one, they're colonialists.
